This arrangement of "Good Christian Men, Rejoice!" includes elements from an arrangement by Bach of the Latin version "In Dulci Jubilo." The composer of the original Christmas carol melody is anonymous, possibly from the thirteenth century. My arrangement begins with the cello and 2nd violin playing alone, then all join together. After a brief middle section in the dominant key, the melody is restated in a final, rousing chorus, complete with a soaring obbligato melody in the first violin. A great piece to include in your holiday performance list!
