Mr Louis Gosztonyi
Teaching the piano on different levels has been his full time profession ever since the sixties when he got his diploma from Kungliga Musikhogskolan in Stockholm (1968). His Professors were Irene Mannheimer and Gunnar de Frumerie. After finishing the soloist piano studies in Sweden 1971 he continued his studies in France between 1972 and 1974 under the guidance of Professor Pierre Sancan (1943 Prix de Rome winner and Professeur de Piano at Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris).
In 2006 Louis Gosztonyi was awarded The Mai von Rosen Prize by The Royal Swedish Academy of Music.
"Louis Gosztonyi has been working with children and young people in the tradition of piano playing for 35 years. Louis Gosztonyi represents also a new way of thinking in his Piano School, where he with elements of humour and originality shows a different entrance to piano playing".
During the years Louis Gosztonyi has also been a performing pianist and accompanist, both in Sweden and abroad. After his retirement as a piano teacher Louis Gosztonyi spends his days composing and practising piano. He also teaches piano privately in a limited extent.
