Robert Weiss is Professor Emeritus of Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he taught for 29 years, the last 13 of which he was Director of the School of Music. Prior to that he taught in the public schools of Puerto Rico and Quincy, Ill. Bob is currently Director of Music of First United Methodist Church in Carbondale, Illinois, and remains active as a performing trombonist. He has Bachelors and Masters degrees in music education from the University of Illinois and a Ph.D. in Education from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
The "Mixed Ensemble" pieces below are arrangements for flute and cello which I wrote for my daughter's wedding. Where practical, some of these have been adapted for trumpet and trombone.
The works for brass and piano or organ are written to accompany congregational singing. Most of the arrangements are for 2 trumpets, 2 trombones and keyboard, with optional parts for horn (1st trombone), tuba and timpani.
