Mr Harry Cook
Harry teaches beginner Woodwind and Brass, Trombone and Tuba to advanced level. He is Musical Director of the Hythe Town Concert Band. He is in demand to lead one and two-day workshops and coach Junior Bands for players from sub grade one up.
Harry became frustrated that most repertoire available for very new players was aimed mainly at String players. Woodwind and Brass often seem to be an afterthought in such arrangements. Not only do Bb and Eb instruments end up playing in unfreindly keys like 'A' and 'E' major, but range ability of new Brass players and of course "the Break" for Clarinetists is often not considered.
Harry began writing his own arrangements in Woodwind/Brass friendly keys and has used them succesfully for years. Some of them are available here.
