I started out as a musician, and went to Indiana University to get a masters in performance degree. Then I studied computer science, figuring I'd support myself part time while auditioning for orchestras. However, computer science became very interesting to me, so I stayed on at IU and got a PhD. Today, I work at the University of Glasgow at the Computing Science department.
