I was born in Berkshire in 1980 and began composing at the age of 10. I studied at Kingston University graduating in 2000 with a first class Bmus-(hons) and commendations for composition and performance. My academic studies continued at Kingston gaining a PGCE in secondary music teaching, before completing an MA in teaching and learning (Distinction) at Reading University. After completing an MMus in composition (Distinction), I have continued my studies at Royal Holloway working towards a PhD with Mark Bowden.

I have worked for many years as a teacher, composer, arranger and conductor. I am currently also working as an Art's Consultant and directing the adult choir 'Voices Anon'.

Over the years, I have won numerous accolades for my compositions including Kingston University Composing Competition in which Dulce et Decorum Est, for Baritone and ensemble was the winning submission. More recently I was runner up in a competition to write for a late starters' string group for which I wrote Life of a Star. Many of my teaching pieces have been used throughout the world in the training of young musicians and adults and my flute music have be performed in America, Europe, and Australia.

My creative output can be grouped into the following fields:

1) Contemporary Music, including Electro Acoustic Music

2) Film and Media Music

3) Educational Music including music in popular classical styles

4) Arrangements

My current research interest which I will be pursing at PhD level is the bringing together of my various interests outlined above - in particular, the contemporary music with the styles and electronics found in commercial music.

A recording of any of the works listed can be obtained by contacting the composer. Also commissions are always welcome for original compositions or arrangements.
