Rick Coates

Rick Coates holds degrees in music composition from Bradley University, music education from UNC-Greensboro, and currently serves as an instrumental music teacher at the Governor Morehead School for the Blind teaching subjects of Band, Braille music, and music technology. He has composed music for various types of instrumental ensembles, and has authored various articles for professional journals on music and visual impairment and serves as a specialist for the Music Education Network for the Visually Impaired (MENVI). His musical influences include jazz (big band) and classical (20th Century) music.
