Delightful and tender, this carol is well-known in Poland and deserves to be sung here. This arrangement for unaccompanied choir includes a new translation which tries to retain some of the homely similes of the original. The contrast between the cantor-like verses and the chorus should be as great as possible. Do try to listen to a Polish choir singing this before your rehearsals are completed.
