These two songs come from the larger work "Sacrifices" (also available on this website) which was written to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1, but it has a resonance far beyond that conflict. The mp3 sample which is available on this page is an extract from the live recording of "Sacrifices", with orchestral accompaniment, on 21 July 2018.
