The three movements are headed: I. Idylle, II. Aubade and III. Méditation. In common with many of his compositions around this time, the score includes written text - in the manner of a poem. The inclusion of written remarks was so well established at this time in Satie’s compositions that he came to ask that the text not be read out during performances.
