As far as arrangement goes, here’s what worked well with the St. John school choir that I work with: Start with a good soloist for the first time through, then the entire children’s choir for the second time. For the last "our future we must place…in the hands of Another", the soloist sings by him or herself.
Instrumentally, if you have bells and/or flute available to play with the keyboard/piano, they’re very effective in setting the lullaby feel of the song. By the way, I use an electric piano sound live for this. But a piano, or piano/strings sound would work as well.
