As the dedication to Horace Silver suggests, this tune looks for new expression in the harmonic language of bop piano. Virtually all of these gestures can be tied to the work Silver, as well as Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk. The piece succeeds if–only if–it manages to say something of its own with that vocabulary.

The playback skips the improvised section (which you can examine manually, or print out), but also the tie into the coda. The form should be AAB throughout.
