The structure of this work is strongly influenced by Classical sonatas - note the sonata form of the first movement, and the final rondo - while its style has roots in contemporary euphonium repertoire. This piece was premiered by the composer on 30th March 2001 as part of the Birmingham Conservatoire 'Music Xtra' festival.
