Sonata for alto saxophone and piano was written in summer 2005, as a result of my researching various possibilities of incorporating elements of jazz into classical music body. I found a sound of saxophone, which has always been a point of great artisitc inspiration and attraction to me, as a perfect choice to create piece that would combine those elements. I created it in three movements, shaping the piece in a quite traditional sonata-form, using tonal music language, where the jazz elements come through as a sort of broader sound inspiration. The piece, lasting 11 minutes, gives a lot of space to show various performer's qualities - both saxophonist and pianist; from atmospheric, melancholic moods, to expressive tone timbres and after all, virtuoso technical skills.

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. Scorch generally works well if you're using a windows computer, but is currently not compatible with modern Mac computers or mobile devices.
