This is a four-part SATB setting of a poem by Sir Walter Scott from 'The Antiquary'. It was originally intended for solo voices and piano, my parents singing the soprano and tenor parts respectively, with two friends provided the alto and bass, with me at the piano. It could equally suit somewhat larger resources, perhaps a chamber choir or other similar-sized vocal ensemble.
The picture shows a bust of Scott.
