As most works for beginner ensembles are written in major keys, this piece was written as an experiment to see how young players would deal with a minor key. After early problems with intonation, this work is now very popular with my pupils. It is dedicated to my two sons, for all of their bedtimes I missed. There is now an extended version of Lullaby available for brass band (Please see below).
