A gentle communion anthem using the lovely Welsh folk melody Suo gan (best known internationally, perhaps, for its appearance at the beginning of the film Empire of the Sun). The humming acompaniment should be quiet yet resonant, the other voices as quiet as possible, too. If the pianist wishes to do something with the otherwise unemployed (!) right hand, please do, within the simple limits suggested by the piece. The words came in response to the melody while thinking about communion music. My wife, Mary, suggested some felicitous changes.
