It would appear that this is intended as a fun song to 'Funicular Railways'. The song was written by journalist Peppino urco and set to music by Luigi Denza in 1880. They drew their inspiration from the inauguration of the first funicular on Mt Vesuvius. It was a popular hit song performed by Mario Lanza in the 1950's.
The Cor Anglais parts are en lieu the 2nd Oboe, and the 1st Bassoon, they may also be played along with the Double Reed Quartet to enlargen the ensemble.
This arrangement has been tried and performed by the North Somerset Double Reed Ensemble, under the Directorship of Rob Heathcote.
Score Exchange has two methods of display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:
You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.
Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. Scorch generally works well if you're using a windows computer, but is currently not compatible with modern Mac computers or mobile devices.
If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
