Nothing more nor less than thumb exercises over open strings at steadily increasing speed from 40bpm to 160bpm. Simple exercise in hand placement and right (plucking)hand thumb technique. Emphasis should be on smooth execution. Master at all speeds, but start SLOWLY!
When playing Spanish Guitar the mobility of fingers and thumb is greater than pure classical styles. Resting the fingers on 1 serves as a check for relative position of thumb and fingers and can set up a good hand position under proper guidance. Download the MP3 as a metronome….
