This arrangement should be sung with the sopranos singing the descant, the other voices singing the original melody and the organ playing the organ part (the descant will not fit the original harmonies). Alternatively, all the singers may sing the original melody and the organ part be used as an elaborate last verse arrangement on its its own.

This piece, together with my other hymn arrangements, original hymn tunes and psalm chants, may be downloaded free of charge. I do ask that, if you use any of my music, you be so kind as to let me know by email. Many thanks to those people who have done so. It is particularly good to hear about performances in the States as well as the UK.

Between the two versions (organ accompaniment/piano accompaniment), this arrangement has been downloaded over 500 times!

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods of display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. Scorch generally works well if you're using a windows computer, but is currently not compatible with modern Mac computers or mobile devices.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
