This lovely piece was composed around 1781 in Paris. The theme "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" is a French folk song which was very popular in Paris at that time. The title is the first phrase of the lyrics and dose not summarize the story. It is a love song. Nowadays, the other lyrics "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" is very popular, however, it appeared after Wozart’s death.
