Problems with printing when using Scorch

The music doesn't fit on the paper or is cropped off when printing using Scorch?

Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Lines option. (On Mac OS X, it is in the area named after your web browser, e.g. Safari or Firefox.) Then print.

Alternatively, try printing the PDF which you can download from the My purchases section of the My account pages.

Alternate pages are missing when printing using Scorch?

You set the score to print only odd/even-numbered pages. Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box choose the Normal and All options. (On Mac OS X, it is in the area named after your web browser, e.g. Safari or Firefox.) Then print.

Keyboard braces are missing or the wrong size when printing using Scorch?

Find the score again, click Scorch's Print button, then on the Print dialog box change the Substitute Braces option if there is one. (On Mac OS X, it is in the area named after your web browser, e.g. Safari or Firefox.) Then print.

Alternatively, try printing the PDF which you can download from the My purchases section of the My account pages.

Notes print as text characters or other font problems such as stems appearing without heads when printing using Scorch?

Try changing your printer's font settings. For instance, in Windows try printing again but click Properties in the Print dialog box, then try changing options which affect font printing, such as Print fonts as graphics or Print TrueType as graphics (usually on the Font tab of the Properties dialog box). You could also check the recommendations in www.sibelius.com/A552 which normally applies to Sibelius itself but equally applies to Scorch installations.

Alternatively, try printing the PDF which you can download from the My purchases section of the My account pages.

The problem I'm having isn't listed?

If you have tried the above solutions to printing problems without success, check if you have the latest driver for your printer.

You should be able to download the latest driver from the printer manufacturer's web site:

After downloading the driver, save it somewhere easy to find, such as on your desktop. Then install the new driver.

To install the new driver on Windows, click the Start button at the bottom left of the screen, then Settings, then Printers. Then double-click Add Printer and follow the instructions.

When asked for the manufacturer and model of your printer, if you have just obtained a new driver (e.g. by downloading it), click Have Disk... and find the new driver file you downloaded.

On Mac, if you need to update the printer driver, just download it to the desktop, double-click the installer. It will open in a browser window at which point you can double-click this to install the driver.

When you've finished, try printing the music again to see if it works. You may need to consult this web page again to adjust the way it prints.

If you need a score to test printing, please use the test score.
