I am thoroughly satisfied with this piece. I wrote it for a friend of mine who is none other than a great violist. This is the first movement and two more are to follow. As you can tell, it is my intention for each movement to be somewhat progammatic. Entitled the "Angry God" I wanted this first movement to evoke a sense of "divine" wrath if you will. If you listen closely you'll even hear what I hope sounds like thunder throughout. The first movement has been divided into three parts: Largo–Allegro–Andante. The Largo section is the arrival of the Angry God, which is quickly followed by what I believe is a very tense and anxious performance. Finally, in the Andante we hear the opening theme once more, yet instead of ending on a mysterious phrygian cadence, we get complete closure.

As always, I welcome any critique. Feel free to live a review on what you thought about it. Thanks.
