The idea of putting the theme at the end was to give the audience some fun in trying to identify the well know tune! There are a few "red herrings" thrown in along the way. They are also vague parodies on rough styles of music, and this makes them quite suitable for performance as separate pieces. This opening movement is in a typical baroque style.
