"Solveg's Song" is from "Peer Gynt" a play by author Henrick Ibsen with incidental music, Suite No 2, Opus 55, by Edward Grieg. Solveg is a girl that Peer Gynt abandons and this 'lament' is sung by her portraying her sadness, and hopes that someday he will return. In this arrangement I have given the song an update by modifying the bass line to a modern Slow Beat style, and the 3-4 section to a Jazz Waltz feel. The ad lib cadenza at the end is my inovation and represents Peer Gynt "cocking a snook".
