Here are 16 of your favourite hymns arranged for Recorder quartet. The score and parts are for Descant, Treble, Tenor and Bass Recorders. These beautiful melodies are in simple one verse arrangements and are straightforward to play. The recorded sample is from the Clarinet version of these quartets.

You may also be interested in Volume 2 which contains 16 different hymns and is available with the rest of my music from my home page. These hymns are designed to be compatible with all the other instrumental versions in the series available from my store. There you will also find the same hymns in quartet format arranged for strings, brass, sax, wind, flute, recorder and clarinet, along with solo versions for all common instruments. By combining different versions it is easy to build up simple but effective accompaniment for church or school bands, no matter what instruments are available. The piano accompaniment also contains chord symbols for guitar and other chord instruments.

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
