This piece has a Celtic/Spanish fusion feel that is coincidental! I just found the melody one night in my head and went from there. I wrote this in January 1978 as a composition assignment (which gained me Star 1st marks I was later told). At the time I dedicated it to the then Head of Music at BGC, Rosemary Finlay, who had encouraged me greatly. This version has the benefit of 30 years experience in arranging and MDing groups in various genres. Sections have been shortened, developed and the addition of another violin and viola part made it more lush. The section in the middle with conflicting 6/8 and 3/4 accents caused some consternation on first performance but was always intentional.
