This noble jacobite march refers to Bonnie Prince Charlie (the 'Shining Hero'of the title). A fine stirring tune, it provides great opportunities for young players to make and impression on their parents (many of whom will be tempted to tap their toes in time!). The quieter, central section may be slowed up slightly but the original tempo should be resumed as the Forte returns. Aain, a slight delay in the final bars allows for a rousing finish.
