This a humouresque piece intended as a fun encore at the end of a more serious recital. The tunes sound like London Cockney Music Hall numbers but are in fact originals taken from the composer's one-act Cockney Opera set in a London Pub in Edwardian England. Play it with humour (or, as you nice Americans spell it - humor) as if it were sung by a rather raucous comedian strutting the stage like the chimney sweep (played by Dick van Dyke)in 'Mary Poppins'.
