"Solitario Entre Amigos" is a ballad of Afro-Cuban extraction using a style known as "Guajira". The chart is reminiscent of Johnny Richards’ "Cuban Fire!" compositions, recorded by the Stan Kenton Orchestra. The opening is mysterious and dramatic; once the tempo is established is stays constant for the remainder of the tune. There is an opportunity to add extra percussion to help with the authentic feel. Solos are for Alto and Trumpet, and suggested solos are provided. All rhythm parts are completely written out as well.
