You are purchasing high quality sheet music PDF files suitable for printing or viewing on digital devices.This arrangement is from an original for wind quintet but when I heard it, it seemed to lend itself to the saxophone style. The original is in Bb Major but I have dropped it to Ab Major to be more accommodating for saxophones. The Sop and 2 Altos follow, and exchange, the original Flute, Oboe and Clarinet lines. The Tenor, mainly from the original French Horn part, has a horn like character in places. The Bari part is based on the original Bassoon line and, consequently, calls for some agility. As far as tempi are concerned, the Chorale and Minuet movements are well placed in musical history but the outer movements are open to interpretation. The Rondo would go well as a stand alone concert encore at a fairly fast tempo.
