oboe solo part from Concerto No. 2 for oboe and strings - I Allegro risoluto

3 minutes
Modern classical music

I have two oboe concertos on this website. Both are modern-classical, but the 2nd (added 20 March 2009) is far more modern than the 1st (added 2 March 2009). Here I present my 2nd oboe concerto, which consists out of three movements. The 1st movement is fast and somewhat harsh, and is in sonata form. The 2nd movement is slow and elegiac, and is in Lied form. The 3rd movement is fast and playfull, and is in a rondo-like form. There are cadenzas in the 1st and 3rd movement. Please do not listen through MIDI but enjoy the MP3 made with Kontakt Player Gold, and feel free to review. * If you like this piece, try the 1st violin sonata or the double bass sonata. Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
