I present here my modern-classical (i.e. post-romantic, not really very modern) tuba concerto (piano version added 24 November 2009). The Gregson, John Williams, Vaughan Williams and other tuba concertos are very virtuoso and explore the capacities of the solist perhaps more than this one, but is there one sweeter and more singing ? The 1st movement is moderately fast and built upon one theme that is further developed. The 2nd movement is a slow Trauermarsch: magical moment (if I may say so myself) when the solist comes in at 0'55". The final movement is moderately fast and in a shortenend rondo form (ABA'CA). There is a cadenza in the final movement. Please do not listen through MIDI but enjoy the MP3 made with Gold Sibelius Sounds and Garritan Personal Orchestra, and feel free to review. * If you like it, try my trombone concerto * * Check out the latest news on my homepage *

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
