"Surely" starts out with one woman crying and then through eight bars the rest of the women in your choir join and crescendo the cry and decrescendo to a lone soloist who sings the first line of Isaiah 53:4-5. From there you are taken through the rest of the Masoretic text with somber, layered chords which build to it’s emotional climax and then fade away to it’s final, breath-taking ending.
