This is my tribute to the America that emerged after September 11th. In the somber beginning, the melody is handed from player to player, and everyone does their fair share in the duty. As the country unites around a common cause, mourning becomes joy in patriotism. The melody takes a proud stance, and as the people's attitude changes, so does the time signature. The final bars reflect America's ability to "accept and move on" with the trumpets playing "Christ has regarded my helpless estate…" from the Philip Bliss tune "It Is Well".
