The first line was what the resurrected Jesus told Saul (who was persecuting Jesus’ followers vigorously) after striking him down blind. Jesus gave him the job of going to the Gentiles - opening their eyes and delivering them from the power of Satan to God that they may receive forgiveness of sins - but before that… Jesus quite often told those he healed to tell no one of it. The man in this song was unusual: he did what he was told!
