The Trois Chansons for SATB choir were composed by Maurice Ravel 1914-15. ’Trois Beaux Oiseaux du Paradis’ is the second movement and is dedicated to the French mathematician and politician Paul Painlevè. The original movement includes parts for solo voices, which in this arrangement have been distributed amongst all the recorder parts. The second movement is dedicated to Mme Paul Clémenceau.

In this arrangement ’Trois Beaux Oiseaux du Paradis’ has been transposed a tone higher and ’Ronde’ has been transposed a tone lower.
