It is in Ternary form, the opening section refecting the passage of time as measured by clocks. The middle section is modal and forms a relaxed contrast to the opening. The final section is a repeat of the opening but with additional counter melodies making for a polyphonic sound canvass. It is the second piece in a collection of compositions for this ensemble.
