A tongue-in-cheek composition written for non-standard wind quintet. I developed this piece around the two introductory themes in a rondo-variations hybrid form. The themes, and their increasingly manic variations, seemed to evoke the melancholy ramblings of an insane clown. The final section resembles a sigh of resignation, as the clown comes down from his panicked episode. A challenging piece for a rare ensemble, but worth a shot.
