Metronome markings, except where there is a "meno mosso" or "piu mosso", are from Joplin’s self-published score. Note that this version of the overture is missing 80 measures (about 4 minutes) from Joplin’s original. I’ve removed largely repetitive material that, in my humble opinion, was excess. The cut material would be just before measure 69 and before measure 164, in each case 40 measures. I've also made a few other scenes from the opera available on Score Exchange.
