Originally for a small clarinet ensemble, this version expands to give the extreme instruments a good crack of the whip (does Santa use a whip?). The piece may be played with just 6 Bb Clarinets and 1 Bass Clarinet, but the full scoring includes an Eb Clarinet (with an alternative Bb part), Alto Clarinet (or Cl 5), and optional parts for a 2nd Bass Clarinet and Contra Alto and Contra Bass Clarinets. There is also a part for Sleigh Bells which adds a festive touch (probably best omitted if you are not performing near Christmas). (Re-scored and revised - October 2021)
