MacHeath's favourite "Ladies" have arrived, amongst them Betty Doxy, Dolly Trull, Mrs Slammekin and Molly Brazen. MacHeath invites them to dance, and calls for "that French tune Mrs Slammekin likes" - a well known dance melody called the Cotillon. Bearing in mind the type of participant, I suspect the dancing would not be as elegant as it sounds here!
