Mendelssohn originally composed this piece in D major for unaccompanied SSA. My chapel choir is limited in number, vocal range, and expertise, so I transposed the piece down to a key that is more accessible for them (B major), and rearranged the voice parts from three treble voices to two, for men’s and women’s voices. The occasional women’s divisi parts are optional.
