This beautiful miniature comes from his Opus 15 ’’Scenes from Childhood’’; and is a fine example of Schumann’s ability to compose short picture-pieces.
This little piece is in the style of a Berceuse or Wiegenlied(lullaby in English), and shows the ability of the composer to write beautifully tranquill melodies, capable of soothing the pressures of the day away, evaporating them into blissful repose.
Perfect piece as a lollipop for a concert, or encore!
The harp part may be omitted, with no discernible loss!
I have kept the original key and tessitura intact.
