The entire Adagietto - complete - no cuts. May I be forgiven for one tiny change in resolving a suspension a couple of beats before what Mahler himself did, (his resolution comes in the melody line in a *following* phrase, not having made any resolution in the preceding phrase). If you can spot where this happens, I will salute you, and buy you a Viennese Wurst! Apart from this, the whole Adagietto sits very comfortably for saxophones. It may be prefered to let this slow movement move just a wee bit faster than what is common for orchestral performance, so I have advisedly marked 42 as the crotchet pulse. I have also taken into consideration what the harp contributes in the orchestral original, so I have inserted a small amount of reiterated ’pulse’ where normally sustain would be present in the strings.
