Flute (Oboe) from The Lone Ar-ranger! (Woodwind Trio)
Although The Lone Ar-ranger was the first score I ever uploaded to SibeliusMusic.com - the predecessor of Score Exchange, and that was way back at the start of the Millennium, it has always proved one of my most popular pieces.
Over the years, it has spawned many different versions - some fairly conventional in instrumental, others somewhat more challenging. A lot of these different versions have come about from email requests around the world, and others just as a perceived need for this or that popular combination.
I noticed that I have actually made an arrangement for Woodwind Trio, and which is quite a popular ensemble, so have made one specifically for Flute / Clarinet / Bassoon.
However, I have also seen trios where the top part is replaced by Oboe, so in this present arrangement, the top part is playable either by Flute or Oboe. In the present piece, this was even achievable without altering a single note, essentially because their playing-ranges are not that dissimilar.
As with all my arrangement of The Lone Ar-ranger!, there are little bits which make it original, and, of course, the challenge of writing effective ’tune’, ’harmony’ and ’bass-line’ is always greater where just three instruments are used.
If there’s any other combination, or instrumental switch you’d like, just email, and I’ll always see if something is viable!

Which method of viewing music should I use?
Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:
You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.
Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.
If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
