3. Horn in F More Palatino part from More Palatino (Four Variations for Brass Sextet)

Composer
Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck
Duration
3 minutes
Genre
Classical music

This wonderful keyboard piece by the Dutch composer, organist and teacher Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck (1562-1621) is listed in Groves as: Almande Gratie [More Palatino], A-Wm (attrib. Sweelinck by Seiffert and Noske, see K and O i/3); K 61; O i/3, 7. Hmmm. . . attributed? Well, whatever scholarly action is needed to definitefly know if Sweelinck actually wrote this charming work is utterly besides the point. The fact is, and this is based on verifiable empirical data: this is a good piece of music, fun to play and to work on and satisfying to perform. I hope you'll download it and enjoy it!! It is scored for 2 Trumpets in B-flat, 1 Horn in F, Euphonium, Trombone and Tuba. I have also included an alternate Fluglhorn part for the Horn Part and an optional Horn Port for the Euphonium Part. This could be fun. . . more fun in fact, than humans should be allowed to have!

Which method of viewing music should I use?

Score Exchange has two methods to display previews of music: seView which uses regular html and javascipt and the Scorch plug-in from Avid which needs to be downloaded and installed onto your computer. Both have advantages and disadvantages:

seView

seView, is the most compatible option. You should be able to view music on all modern web browsers including most mobile devices. Even if your device does not support javascript you should still be able to preview at least page one of the music.

You do not need to install any additional software to use seView.

Scorch

Scorch is a free plug-in from Avid for displaying and printing music. It can also play the music that you're seeing. As modern web browsers are updated, Scorch is no longer compatible with many browsers. Scorch has never been compatible with mobile devices and some web browsers on Mac computers.

If your web browser does not install Scorch automatically, you can click here to download and install scorch manually.
