Josef Franz Wagner (1856-1908) was an Austrian military bandmaster and composer. Known as "The Austrian March King," he is best known for his 1902 march Unter dem Doppeladler or Under the Double Eagle, referring to the double eagle in the coat of arms of Austria-Hungary. In an entirely different style, this march, Tyrolean Woodchopper Boys, captures the spirit and scenic beauty of the Tyrol region, if not the Tyrolean people. The trio cleverly imitates the "zvu-ba, zvu-ba" of the saw blade as the woodcutters merrily attend to their work.
