When my daughter was 3, I was inspired to capture her musically. She was an energetic and playful toddler who didn't take naps. She would play happily all day, but by 7:00pm, like clockwork, she would start crying from exhaustion. This meltdown would go on for about a half-hour, then she would stop crying and slip into a deep, peaceful sleep. The next day, she'd do all lover again.
The title, "Once Three, Too," is a pun: the piece is in 3-2 meter (mostly), and all of us were once three, too.
