The words of this song (collected and harmonised by the singer Mme H. Lène-Ybla) are from Count de Laborde, and became so popular as to be mistaken as traditional. They were written around the turn of the 19-th century, and the first published music (that we know) set to them are from the Danish composer “Georg Gerson” (1790-1825).
